Had a good hunch

Just back on the river again on Sunday.

日曜日はまた川に。


Nothing much was different from the last week. Just a windy day but not too bad I thought.

先週から特に変わった様子は無い。ただちょっと風があるけど、そんなにひどくは無い。


I just took my switch rod to see how it goes.

スイッチロッドを手に取り、さあどうかな。


I soon caught the first fish, small browny but a good start.

すぐに1本目をキャッチ。小さいけど幸先のいいスタート。

After the first fish, I had to spend much time to the second one. Compared with the last week, I could get fewer bites.

1本目のあと、２本目までには多くの時間を要した。先週と比べると、バイトは少ない。


The second fish was 3lb, 20inches, not that big but a good one.

２本目は３ポンド、５０センチ。そんなにデカくないけどいい魚だ。




Having some good fun on the winter river.

冬の川で楽しんでます。


I decided to try this new spot to end the day in the evening.

夕方はこの新しいスポットにトライして終わることにした。


I had a hunch that I get a bite here, yeah, just a hunch though...

なんだかここで来そうな気がしたのだ。ただの予感だけど。。


And after like 30 casts, I got a bite suddenly when the woolly bugger swung across the current near the opposite bank.

３０キャストくらいしただろうか。対岸近くの流れをウーリーバッガーがスイングして横切った時、突然バイトが来た。

Yeees, big fish!!

やり～、デカイ！！


Landed a good sea-run browny.

いいシーランのブラウンをランディング。

 
This sea-runner weighed 5lb, 24inches.

このシーランナーは５ポンド、６１ｃｍ。


Perfect fish to end the day.

１日を終えるには完璧な魚だ。


Mmmm, such a good fish!

う～～ん、なんていい魚だ！

It wasn't an easy day but I thought this was how winter fishing going to be llike and I was quite happy that I got a good one at the end.  It's just the beginning of this winter fishing, still long way to the end of September. I hope that I'll catch a bigger one like 7-8lb here during winter.
I think I'll get a chance for that as long as I keep casting.

簡単な日じゃなかったけど、冬の釣りってこんなもんだし、最後にいい魚が捕れてかなりハッピーだった。まだウインターフィッシングのほんの始まりで、９月の末までは長いなあ。
冬の間にここで７－８ポンドくらいのいいのが釣れるといいんだけど。
まあ、続けていればチャンスはあると思いますけどね。
